Magdalena holds University of Manchester MEd in ELT (2005) and PhD in Education (2012) degrees, and is a member of SNI in Uruguay (Sistema Nacional de Investigadores). She started working as a teacher of English in 1997, and since then she has taught a variety of age groups and levels. Until 2014 she was involved in pre- and in-service teacher training at Instituto Cultural Anglo Uruguayo. She is currently Head of Pre-School and Primary at Ivy Thomas Memorial School in Montevideo. She is also Lecturer in Research Methods at Universidad ORT Uruguay, where she acts as a supervisor at Masters level. She has a number of publications based on her research on Intercultural Communication, Action Research and Blended Learning.
